General Questions

Bright Analytics is an end-end marketing analytics platform. We solve 3 core business challenges:

  1. We automatically ingest, clean and store all your marketing analytics data sources in a centralised location. Your data is constantly refreshed, permanently and securely stored and ready to be put to use.
  2. We turn this raw data into customised reporting tailored precisely to your business goals / KPIs and structure through our Semantic Layer. This eliminates the potential for human error and inconsistency in ways of analysing this data by ensuring everyone is working off a centralised, version-controlled, permission-restricted data model that is customised entirely to your specific reporting use cases.
  3. We provide a self-service, user-friendly reporting and visualisation layer that allows anyone in your team or the agencies you work with to report on the same KPIs, in a consistent way. This saves significant amounts of time by avoiding manual reporting by individuals and teams working in silo,

Typically we will first take the time to run a discovery call so that we understand your goals and current challenges before we set anything up. Normally it’s a matter of hours and days rather than weeks before you have a working solution that we can gradually build upon.

Once we understand your use case and goals we move quickly and once we get data flowing, a customised semantic later and initial reports and dashboards come to life in a matter of hours.

No – we don’t charge for setup. We’re so confident you’ll love Bright Analytics and that it will be providing great value that we’re happy to invest our time upfront to ensure you’re up and running quickly and smoothly.

Yes. The Bright Analytics team will work closely with your stakeholders to get you setup and data flowing without you having to lift a finger. Well, we’ll need you to authenticate your data connections but we can do everything else.

Yes! Bright Analytics was designed to solve the challenges of analysing data from multiple disparate sources. Our data engine allows you to harmonise any number of data sources and create metrics and dimensions which bring multiple datasets together.

You can create any number of dashboards and reports. We don’t charge based on the number of dashboards you build.

This depends on the source platform we’re pulling from and how often it refreshes its data. It also depends on what our customers require. Datasources can be updated from hourly through to every day or on specific days of the week. We typically run a rolling refresh of data for the preceding 5 – 10 days (depending on the source platform) to ensure 100% data accuracy.

Data Warehousing & Infrastructure

No! Bright Analytics will create and host a data warehouse for you as part of onboarding. If you have your own data in an existing data warehouse we can either work with that data or include that warehouse as a source of data in a hybrid setup.

Absolutely. Bright Analytics can connect to your existing data infrastructure. Our semantic layer can be configured to sit on top of your data warehouse and bring the power and flexibility of Bright Analytics’ reporting functionality to your existing data.

Yes. Bright Analytics can connect to multiple data hosts. For example, if you already hold all your transaction / sales data in an existing data warehouse, but want Bright Analytics to ingest all your marketing data, we could store that in a separate data warehouse we provision and maintain for you. We can then configure Bright Analytics semantic layer to read from both locations – this would allow you to combine data from separate infrastructure into a unified data model and reporting service.

Pricing & Commercials

We do not charge for rows of data processed or stored. We include a block of storage for you to work with the data you need to analyse and if you need more storage then we would talk to you about this and increase the allocation. We will never surprise you with a charge for storage or data processing.

Our pricing is designed to be predictable, transparent and driven by the use case each customer is solving.

The key elements that drive our pricing are the number of data integrations you need to connect and the level of support you require from us. Some customers want us to provide a fully-managed service that adds an entirely new capability to their existing team; some have existing data teams who drive and configure the Bright Analytics platform to meet their specific use cases, and come to us only for specialist guidance around niche challenges.

We tailor pricing and service levels to each customer based on their needs.

Training & Technical Skills

Absolutely not! Bright Analytics is a no-code platform allowing anyone to start to import and analyse their data through a simple user interface. We provide templates for building KPIs.

You do not need to know SQL, but if you do need to do something bespoke then Bright Analytics does allow various places where SQL can be used to customise your data : this might be used to create a custom dimension (e.g time lag between 2 timestamp fields) or a custom KPI (SUM a field based on the value of another field).

We also allow for use of custom SQL in our ETL module, allowing customers to transform their data in bespoke ways.

At all times you can ask Bright Analytics for support with any custom use cases where SQL skills are needed, or we can provide guidance and steering for any questions you have.

We do. We’re happy to arrange personalised training sessions for our customers and their teams. Typically we would do a deep-dive into the platform at the start of a new customer engagement, but we can arrange follow up and refresher sessions as needed.

Yes. We have a knowledge base that covers the general use and configurations of the Bright Analytics platform. We also create custom documentation for our customers that detail the specific solutions and customisation we have implemented for them. This ensures that when new staff join a customer’s team and want to get up to speed on the Bright Analytics platform, there is clear documentation and context for them to dive into.
