A SEMANTIC LAYER FOR ANY DATA WAREHOUSE

A faster, more flexible way to model and report on your data.

Most BI tools expect to connect to SQL views – that your data team has to build, maintain, and update whenever reporting needs change. Bright Analytics takes a different approach.

By connecting directly to your data warehouse, our semantic layer lets analysts and data teams collaborate seamlessly, creating a customisable, flexible model that adapts to business needs faster and more efficiently.

The Challenge: Managing Your Data Model Layer

For most teams, SQL views are the foundation of their reporting. They provide structure, enforce business logic, and ensure consistency. But as reporting needs evolve, customising, extending and scaling your data model becomes critically important, and using views can become a serious bottleneck.

Iteration becomes a headache

  • Every small change requires engineering time, often leading to delays in getting the insight you need.
  • Hard to build momentum, reporting and analytics becomes a chore.

Difficult to manage growing complexity

  • As business logic evolves, more is asked of reporting, there are more moving parts, creating a maintenance burden which eats up time.
  • When stakeholders request custom reports, modifying views to support these can be challenging, impacting other projects by diverting resource.

The Solution: A No-Code Semantic Layer

Bright Analytics sits on top of your existing data, providing a flexible semantic layer where analysts can define business logic, metrics, and transformations – without having to call on your SQL engineers for every change, giving them bandwidth for other work streams.

Iterate at the speed your business requires

  • Adjust calculations, segmentations, and business rules without rewriting SQL views.
  • Test and refine reports in real time – no waiting for engineering cycles.

Build the custom reports your stakeholders need, quickly and painlessly

  • When teams request new metrics and new dimensions, changes can be made instantly.
  • No need to rework underlying SQL views or risk breaking other reports.

Keep your current data warehouse exactly as it is – just add a flexible layer on top

  • Bright Analytics connects directly to your existing warehouse (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, etc.).
  • Your data stays where it is – we just give you a more flexible way to model and analyse it.

Connect to data across multiple data warehouse and cloud providers

  • Bright Analytics supports multiple data hosts, meaning your data model can be composed of data from multiple locations.
  • Connect siloed data & legacy platforms under a unified reporting layer.

A platform that delivers a single source of truth, across all your existing data, and unlocks more efficient ways of working for all your teams.

Cross-Warehouse Analysis

Cross-Warehouse Analysis

No need to manually stitch together data from different systems. Bright Analytics harmonises all data, from all your sources, under a unified, transparent reporting layer and data model.

More Flexibility, Less Lock-In

More Flexibility, Less Lock-In

You don’t have to standardise on one warehouse or migrate data between platforms. Bright Analytics works across all of them, reducing vendor lock-in.

Less engineering, more insight

Less engineering, more insight

As complexity in data and technology grows, it’s easy to get bogged down in engineering work. Ultimately the point of all this data is to put it to use. Bright Analytics frees up time for analysts and engineers to spend more time on insights and projects that drive business outcomes.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Bright Analytics’ semantic layer can connect to data hosted in AWS (RDS, Reshift), Google Cloud Platform (CloudSQL, BigQuery), Azure (Azure SQL), and Snowflake.

This depends largely on the time it takes for you to provision access for us to connect to your infrastructure. We can move quickly, and once the access is created and tested, it’s a matter of minutes from there to start defending and using your new Bright Analytics data model.

Bright Analytics has a fully-featured reporting and visualisation module. Unlimited reports, unlimited dashboards and all the user roles, permissions and group structures you need to get your team setup, where they’re building out your data model or building and creating reports and dashboards.
